Junior Scientists Participation Program Thanks to generous funding by the European Science Foundation (1991–2003), the Swiss National Science Foundation (until 2005), the Fonds der Chemischen Industrie (FCI) in Germany (2004, 2009–), the Division of Chemical Research of the Swiss Chemical Society (2006–) and the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) (2009–) (see Acknowledgements), every year 15-20 young promising European scientists at the beginning of their academic careers have been supported to participate at this Conference. The intense interactions between junior and senior scientists during these Conferences have inspired much frontier research and are at the origin of many fruitful scientific collaborations. The Organizing Committee asks leading scientists, former Presidents of the ‘Bürgenstock Conferences’, as well as Presidents of National Academies of Science to nominate candidates for supported participation. The (typically) long list of candidates, complemented by spontaneous applications of interested young researchers, is reviewed by the President together with the Organizing Committee. They select a group of 15-20 junior scientists for support based on their scientific record and fitting research topics. A successfully completed PhD thesis is a prerequisite for consideration. To apply for the JSP Program, send - your CV
